Dr. Laura Boehler grew up in Southern California and earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Cal State Polytechnic University.

Before attending veterinary school, Dr. Boehler worked for several years as a veterinary assistant at various wildlife and exotic animal sanctuaries. She graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 and completed a one-year rotating internship at VCA West Los Angeles. Following her internship, she moved to South Florida to provide veterinary care for over 250 rescued chimpanzees at Save the Chimps, the world’s largest chimpanzee sanctuary.

Eventually, Dr. Boehler returned to California, where she worked at exotic animal hospitals, local wildlife sanctuaries, and served as an emergency veterinarian during late night shifts at a busy specialty practice in Los Angeles. In the summer of 2018, she relocated to Utah, spending five years working full-time at an exotic animal practice.

Dr. Boehler is currently working towards opening her own private veterinary practice, but until such time as that dream can be realized, she uses her highly qualified medical skills to provide vet care for several rescue organizations in UT and works weekends at the Neighborhood Veterinary Care clinic where she provides quality care to exotic pets.

In her spare time, Dr. Boehler enjoys rock climbing in the Cottonwood Canyons and creating edible gardens for her 25-year-old Russian tortoise and two rescued lionhead rabbits, Elsa and Bun.
