Dr. Petrauskas is a committed and invaluable member of our organization, whose lifelong passion for animal welfare has shaped her impressive career in veterinary medicine. From a young age, she was drawn to the care of animals, often engaging in pretend play as a veterinarian with her pets. This early interest blossomed into a profound commitment, leading her to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in 2013.

Dr. Petrauskas has since honed her skills in both general and emergency medicine, practicing in diverse settings across Connecticut and Las Vegas. Her professional interests are varied and extensive, encompassing emergency medicine, surgery, and the treatment of exotic animals and pocket pets. She has assisted other veterinarians by providing sedation protocols and offering advice through the Veterinary Information Network (VIN) as well as through direct consultation, and has over a decade’s worth of mink specialized experience. She is also actively involved with the FACT ferret shelter in Hartford and contributes her expertise to wildlife rescue efforts.

Dr. Petrauskas thrives in the dynamic environment of veterinary medicine, finding satisfaction in addressing the unique challenges posed by a wide range of animal patients. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors with her two dogs, indulging her artistic side through drawing, and perpetually expanding her knowledge in her field. At home, she surrounds herself with a diverse array of pets, including a rescued mink (non-releasable), several ferrets, two snakes, seven tarantulas, and a flock of farmyard chickens and turkeys. Her commitment to animals extends into her personal life, showcasing her genuine love and dedication to their well-being.

Dr. Petrauskas is consistently seeking to broaden her understanding of veterinary medicine and remaining steadfast in her mission to provide unparalleled care to animals in need.
